  • Coral Atchitson review of our rental agreement was complimentary.

Many etransfer deposits from Silent Auction. Cash deposited etransfered from Malyna (Apple). Mennonite deposit for hall rental and fee. Raffle donation cheques. Honorarium to Ian Hicks. Lawyer fee for land transparency filing.

Monthly Reporting

b. Mcleese Lake Fire Department  

  • Recruitment event coming up. Possible new recruits: Kevin, Trevor, Rebecca, Clint, & Seth, and hopefully more!
  • BBQ to be served prior looking for volunteers (Eva/Apple?)
  • Next Monday’s First responder’s training is CPR – all are welcome from the community.
 

c. Community Watch 

  •  Facebook Community watch page reports that some denials to group membership recently (they did not answer the questions) so staying vigilant. 
  •  Community is aware of the pet theif
  •  Lost/missing pet rottweiler, Yogi

d. Hall Grounds Keeping / Maintenance

  •  New taps installed in the kitchen
  •  Waiting on RL7 for proper ventilation (hood fans)

Old Business

a. Status of the MCLR Facility Rental agreement to be reviewed by MLRC Board

b. Mcleese Lake Recreation Commission Events Planning

  • Christmas Potluck was a great success! Lots of attendance from the community and great fun. Thank you to all the organizers.
    • For next year would like to move to a Sunday dinner so it doesn’t conflict with any holiday events the mine may hold.

New Business

  • Calendar of events review
    • Parent and tots event to continue through to April (then start back up in October), AA Meetings, and BINGO every 3rd Tuesday at 6 p.m. 
  • Motion to confirm that we will be holding the listed events?
    •  Family Day, Easter celebration, Earth Day, Mother’s Day, Garage Sale, Father’s Day (Quad Run). July 1 Fishing Derby + Canada Day Fireworks (fire ban dependent), Halloween, Christmas Potluck – passed 
  • Motion to add another event for celebrating Aboriginal history and ancestry and would like to approach the Soda Creek Band to see if they would like to host/participate with support from the Mcleese Lake Recreation Commission. – passed

Discussions from the Floor / Community

Questions or concerns / announcements:

  • When is the next Annual General Meeting (May 3rd) 
  • Noting again that everyone is invited to the next first responder’s training on Monday for CPR training.
  • Dance movement classes proposed by Tana. Tuesday evenings suggested by the board. Tana will seek community interest and will confirm “pilot” class.
