Secretary’s Correspondence: none at this time

Treasurer’s Correspondence: 

  • Following up on rental agreement
  • 400 instead of 600 has been upated 
  • Final will be sent to Apple to post online
  • Bingo license received
  • add to agenda vote on what the percentage take will be for the hall. Recommended 10%.
  • Gaming grant application deadline missed on November 30th.

Monthly Reporting

a. Cariboo Regional District – presented by CRD Director, Steve Forseth

– Steve has been re-elected as Area Director

– CMH project looking to be 2028 deadline. Budget review in 2023. We are looking at a hospital tax.  

– Mcleese Lake Recreation commission $25,000 from the CRD. 

– Early February a Zoom town hall – public consultation 

– Property assessments might rise as much as 15%

   — urge to appeal your BC assessment if you are not happy with it. The deadline is January 31st, 2023.

– Recycle BC has served noticed that some of the depots will be cut. Mcleese Lake will likely be okay, but not Wildwood’s.

  • Spring freshet – sandbags will be out in February.
  • Thank you to all the volunteers who help make this a vibrant community
 

b. Mcleese Lake Fire Department  

Last two hall meetings went well. Some remarks from meetings:

  1. 911 Calls – ambulance came from Quesnel for the sunny road one vehicle accident. But it pinged the wrong location. About 4 KM. 
  2. Share with the community is there a need for 911 (For example, is the car in the ditch empty? Does anyone need help or did they already receive help?)
  3. Ambulance will be used as tool hauling
 

c. Community Watch 

Talked about cameras, and more to be put up.

d. Hall Grounds Keeping / Maintenance

Nothing to report from Dennis until spring. 

Ian has been plowing the Mcleese lake driveway.

Motion to award an honorarium of $300 for Ian for winter snow removal for the season.

Christmas Potluck (December 10) planning for this year 

– The 27th Christmas Potluck. Two turkeys and three hams is provided by the hall. The rest is Potuck from the community.

– Trees and hall need to be decorated on Friday the 9th – Everyone?

Clean-up some on the night and then the day afterwards. Sunday December 11th, at 11:00 AM.
